This is an experimental piece that I did for a challenge at an artwork challenge site. The challenge was to take a friend's collage created with photos in photoshop and try to make a drawing out of it. So I found an X-Files collage made by a friend from another forum and asked her if I could use her collage as my reference. Of course she was thrilled and said yes. It was a really interesting challenge to take all the photos and autumn images she had blended together in photoshop and try and turn it into a drawing or painting. This piece took me forever because it basically has 3 sets of portraits blended into trees and leaves but it was fun at the same time to give it a try. It would have definitely made a better oil painting with all the beautiful fall colors but it was hard enough just to get the pencil work done. "Maybe" someday I'll go back and turn it into a painting. In the meantime, its done in a mixture of mechanical pencils and soft graphite pencils on bristol board. The finished piece is about 18x22 and had to be scanned in pieces and put back together in photo shop to try and hide the seams.

Interesting piece to try and hey! It won 2nd place! Not too shabby....
