Avril Lavigne

This is a portrait I drew last year for a possible class I was going to teach to young people at the art school I belong to. Unfortunately, not enough students signed up so we'll try again next year. Anyway, I was trying to pick celebrities that young people would be interested in and this Avril was going to be their first assignment. It's done in graphite pencils ranging from 2b to 7b on heavy weight 14x17 medium texture drawing paper. I usually don't do to much detail work when it comes to the subject's clothing but I enjoyed trying recreate her jewelry.
